"It feels like surfing, snowboarding, and flying so when you do a carve it’s just an insane feeling!" - Alan Stokes
Here's how you and your instructor Tim will do it!
Meet up at Hurricane Bay: there is a pull-off area where you can park on the side of the road for free. You will see me since I'll have two efoils on the beach waiting for you!
Step-by-step:
1) We will start off doing a safety and technique lesson on the beach.
2) Then, we will put on our wetsuits, put the batteries in the efoils, and turn them on.
3) We will carefully walk into the water with the efoils and start to paddle out.
4) Once it's deep enough, I'll have you practice riding on your stomach.
5) Then, we'll practice getting up on our knees and taking some turns. - We might do this for the rest of the lesson and it will still be fun! Some people rush this stage, but it's really important to be comfortable going faster on your knees before trying to stand up.
6) We will practice getting one leg in the front of the board and keeping it balanced across the water. This is an important stage.
7) Once you're going fast enough, you can stand up and fly! (The feeling of flight will scare you at first, but you will quickly learn to love it!)
